Spirit portraits are a way to prove continuity of life. The samples on this page have been done during readings when spirit has come through to communicate and show the "sitter" they  still live on as a loving  and viable presence. During the reading, As I blend with Spirit, they often communicate images and impressions for me to "draw" from. Other times my pencil takes on a life of its own, I may have an image in mind, but a totally different portrait will emerge. The photos shown here were given to me well after the reading, sometime weeks or month later. Each drawing has a unique story.

Some vocabulary hints: A sitter is the person "sitting " for the reading, a communicator is the spirit or loved one that is communicating through the medium. The "Details" in a reading also called evidence are facts that are specific to the communicator that the "Sitter" may recognize. It is called evidence in that it proves who is communicating and that they have survived beyond physical death. A circle is a group of people sitting in a circle with a clear and loving intention of communicating with spirit for the highest good.

This reading had a surprise ending. As we began, I was asked to reach a spirit that the sitter occasionally felt in his mother's home. I brought through a very strong- willed and loving woman with snowy white hair. She felt like the matriarch of the family. The sitter recognized her from the details I described about her. I began to draw, letting the spirit flow. A man's face began to form on the page. As he came closer he described himself and his life as a political leader in his community. He had a lot to say about the difficult times he lived in and the skills it took to reach people and inspire them. This is a portrait of the sitter's grandfather. The photos were brought to me much later.

The sitter for this reading watched me work for a while at a fair before she asked me for a reading. As soon as we began a man in his thirties came through. As I brought forward details from him, she recognized him. He spoke about her, his children and how he missed them all. He reassured her he was fine, and that it was true the family was experiencing his presence since his passing.  Later she sent this picture to me. It's a photo their young son had taken that they had used at his father’s memorial service.

Norma came to me as I sat in Circle. She presented herself as a very young girl from the 1800’s. She had passed early and carried a doll with her. She repeated the name “Ginny” to me several times. As I gave the details and showed the drawing woman came forward to claim her, with reservations. She said she had to do some research. The next week in circle she brought in a few pictures and a wonderful story. The little girl was named Norma. The woman had visited the graveyard shortly before our circle the previous week and had happened upon Norma’s grave stone by accident. He mother had been a doll maker and she believed Norma had been buried with her doll. Ginny was a woman he recently married into the family only to loose her young husband and this was the first year anniversary of his death.  The family reached out to Ginny that week, partly because of Norma!

As I sat in Circle , a man came to me, as I drew him he appeared to be young and dressed in clothes form over 30 years ago. A woman came forward to claim him as her dad with reservations. The verbal details were accurate but the drawing looked too young. I gave her the drawing and gave the rest to spirit. Trusting the information I receive from spirit is the biggest and most important lesson for Me and all mediums to learn. A few weeks later I heard from her. A cousin had found an old photo of her dad. She felt it had a strong resemblance to the drawing. As we talked we both came to realize he showed us himself at his favorite (and most handsome) time of his life.
